Position Title:     Auto Mechanics Teacher (9-12)

SUMMARY: The role of the auto mechanics teacher is to plan and provide instruction that affords the technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare students for post-secondary education and careers in the automotive industry.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

EDUCATION/LICENSURE/EXPERIENCE: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university and/or five (5) year’s work experience in the field of automotive engineering. Minimum educational requirements/work experience shall be met prior to employment in the teaching specialty. Upon hiring, Qualified applicants must obtain licensure through the Arkansas Department of Education by applying for licensure and completing the following 4 courses on Arkansas IDEAS as a part of the application process: Suicide Awareness; Child Maltreatment; Parental Involvement; Dyslexia. Additionally, upon hire, qualified applicants will be expected to attend professional development required by the Arkansas Department of Career & Technical Education.

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Successful completion of pre-employment background checks. Appropriate personal and professional conduct at all times around students, other staff members and the general public.
